Sheringham Shoal Wind Energy Visitor and Education Centre

The project has begun work on the establishment of the Sheringham Shoal Visitor and Education Centre. The Centre will aim to educate and inform about wind energy in general and the Sheringham Shoal Offshore Wind Farm in particular. It will be located in The Mo, an iconic building on Sheringham’s east promenade that is undergoing a £1 million refurbishment to become the new home to the Sheringham Museum, and the town’s enviable collection of lifeboats.

The Mo provides a history of a town where life has traditionally revolved around the sea. However as offshore wind energy looks set to play a major role in North Norfolk’s future, it will also look forward by providing a location to tell the story of wind energy.

The Sheringham Museum (The Mo) is scheduled to open to the public in time for Easter 2010, and the formal opening of the Sheringham Shoal Wind Farm Visitor and Education Centre is planned to take place in mid-2010.
