Environmental EIAs

Both elements of the project - the offshore wind farm and the onshore grid connection – have been subject to separate Environmental Impact Assessments looking at the full range of natural, physical and human environmental factors which could be affected by the development.

The resulting Environmental Statements were submitted to the relevant authorities and subsequent consents have been received:

  • Section 36 Consent was granted by Department of Business and Regulatory Reform (BERR) in August 2008
  • Town and Country Planning Act approvals were received by the North Norfolk and Broadland District Councils for the onshore grid connection in early 2008.

All permissions were granted with sets of conditions relating to timing of the work, construction methods and environmental issues, which are being monitored and addressed as appropriate.

Both the offshore and onshore Environmental Statements and Non-Technical summaries can be downloaded here.
