Cable route approved
(1 February 2008) Both the Broadland and North Norfolk District Councils have approved the construction and operation of the underground cable system which is required for the proposed Sheringham Shoal Offshore Wind Farm.
Both councils, in pursuance of their powers under the Town & County Planning Act 1990, have granted planning permission for the underground cable to be constructed from Weybourne to Salle in accordance with plans and application forms submitted by Scira Offshore Energy Limited.
Each permission was granted with a set of standard conditions which relate to timing of the work, construction methods and environmental issues.
These approvals are a major step forward for joint venture company Scira Offshore Energy Limited in the development of its Sheringham Shoal Offshore Wind Farm.
