Invitation to a public exhibition for the Sheringham Shoal Offshore Wind Farm

Sheringham, Norfolk (25th April 2005)
Scira Offshore Energy Limited1 is launching its proposed Sheringham Shoal Offshore Wind Farm development with an exhibition at the Burlington Hotel, Sheringham on 28th April 2005. Members of the press and public have been invited to the exhibition to find out more about the project and to meet some of the project team from Scira, who will be available to answer questions.

Megan Arnold Communications Manager for Scira said: “The Sheringham Shoal Offshore Wind Farm will prove to be of great interest to many people along the North Norfolk coast. The exhibition is a great opportunity for visitors to familiarise themselves with the project and learn about offshore wind energy. We are looking forward to meeting as many people as possible at the exhibition.”

The proposed development will be sited approximately 11 miles off the coast of Sheringham in the Greater Wash. In an effort to boost Britain’s ability to source alternative sources of energy for the future, Scira was awarded a licence by The Crown Estate in December 2003 to develop this offshore wind farm. The company is now in the process of undertaking an Environmental Impact Assessment and consulting with key stakeholders and the general public.
