There will be local opportunities both during construction and in the longer term in relation to operation and maintenance of the wind farm. It is anticipated that once fully operational the wind farm will directly create around 50 permanent jobs.
Turbine manufacturer Siemens will be responsible for the installation and maintenance of the turbines for the first few years of operation, and they will be recruiting service technicians locally. The successful candidates will undergo intensive training at Siemens Newcastle and then on the job training at existing wind farms around the UK.
